FAQ

Clear answers to help you understand your options and move forward with confidence.

What is collaborative divorce coaching?

Collaborative divorce coaching is a structured, team-based approach to divorce where both partners work with trained professionals to reach agreements outside of court. As a neutral mental health professional, I help manage the emotional and communication dynamics so decisions can be made thoughtfully rather than reactively.

How is collaborative divorce different from traditional divorce?

Traditional divorce often relies on an adversarial process, where each side advocates for their own outcome. Collaborative divorce focuses on transparency, cooperation, and problem-solving, helping families reach agreements that protect long-term relationships, especially when children are involved.

Do you work with clients going through litigation or mediation?

Yes. While I specialize in collaborative divorce, I also work with individuals and families in mediated or litigated cases who want more structure, clearer communication, and child-centered decision-making throughout the process.

What is co-parenting support, and how can it help?

Co-parenting support helps parents move from conflict and confusion to clearer communication and more consistent routines across households. I work with you to create practical agreements and reduce ongoing tension so your children feel more stable and supported.

What is a parenting plan, and do I need one?

A parenting plan outlines how decisions will be made and how time will be shared between households. A well-developed plan reduces ambiguity, prevents future conflict, and creates a more predictable environment for children.

What is parenting coordination or neutral consulting?

Parenting coordination is a structured, neutral process designed for families experiencing ongoing conflict, often with court involvement. I help interpret agreements, guide decision-making, and provide accountability so issues can be resolved without constant escalation.

Do you take sides between parents?

No. My role is neutral. I focus on helping both parents communicate more effectively, stay accountable, and make decisions that support their children and long-term family functioning.

Do you provide therapy or legal advice?

I am a licensed mental health professional, but in these roles, I am not providing traditional therapy or legal advice. Instead, I offer structured, process-focused support that helps you navigate emotional and relational dynamics alongside your legal process.

Do you work with clients outside of Texas and Michigan?

I am licensed in Texas and Michigan and primarily work with clients in those states. For speaking, training, and certain professional services, I am available nationwide both in-person and virtually.

Are sessions in-person or virtual?

I offer both in-person sessions in Frisco, Texas, and virtual sessions for clients in Texas and Michigan. Virtual work is often just as effective and allows for greater flexibility during an already demanding time.

How do I know which service is right for me?

Many clients aren’t sure where to start, and that’s completely normal. We can begin with a conversation to understand your situation and determine whether collaborative coaching, co-parenting support, or a more structured role would be most helpful.

How do I get started?

The first step is reaching out through the contact form. From there, we’ll schedule a conversation to clarify your needs, answer questions, and identify the best path forward.
